Hallux Valgus
The more common definition of hallux valgus is simply a bunion. It is a medial deviation of the first metatarsal on the outside of the big toe joint and can be caused by shoes that do not fit properly. It looks like a large bump protruding from the big toe joint and can cause pain from swelling around the joint.
